The Women's Wellbeing Peer Support Group aims to create a safe and supportive space for women to connect, share experiences, and grow together.

The main goal is to improve the overall wellbeing of women by addressing common challenges and promoting mental health. This group encourages open conversations about personal struggles, provides emotional support, and offers practical advice for daily life. Members can learn from each other's experiences and build lasting friendships. The group also focuses on helping women build self-confidence, manage stress, and develop healthy coping strategies.

By participating in group activities and discussions, women can gain new perspectives, find inspiration, and work towards personal growth. Ultimately, the group strives to empower women to lead happier, healthier lives and create a strong community of mutual support.

Tasks and responsibilities may include any of the following;

  • Welcoming participants into the group
  • To help set up the activities (if planned)
  • To help serve refreshments
  • To help create a supportive, friendly atmosphere for the group
  • To assist with cleaning and tidying at the end of each session

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Understand the importance of the groups Health & Safety procedures
  • Understand the importance of confidentiality & safeguarding vulnerable adults
  • Be aware of the standards set by Home Instead and the need to work to these standards at all times.

What skills do I need?

No specific skills required, however we are looking for: 

  • A warm, friendly person to help at our group sessions
  • To be empathetic and have good communicational skills
  • To work as part of a team
  • To be reliable and arrive to help on the dates and times agreed
  • Comfortable using an iPad for a light, coordinated group exercise session (don’t worry if not, full training and support will be provided!), to support those with musculoskeletal (MSK) issues that can affect all of us, no matter the age
  • To have the desire to help support and uplift women!

Additional information:

  • Every volunteer will receive any mandatory training necessary
  • Every volunteer will have access & be signposted to training which the group feels is appropriate for the role
  • Every volunteer will be trained in all the tasks they are required to carry out to ensure they have the skills and confidence to fulfil their role
  • No volunteer will be expected to carry out their duties unsupervised until they are confident and skilled in these duties
  • All volunteers will be supported and their skills and contribution to the group will be reviewed on a regular basis.
