Volunteer Data Officer

Shrewsbury Repair Cafe

Shrewsbury Repair Café hosts an event each month where members of the public bring broken or non-working household items in to be repaired by a team of volunteers repairers.

It is vital for the operation of the Shrewsbury Repair Café that data is collected at each event so that it can be used for analysis, future planning and grant applications.   Shrewsbury Repair Café collects data on

·       Items brought in for repair

·       Repair outcomes

·       Basic visitor demographics

·       Visitor satisfaction

·       Visitor numbers

·       Volunteer numbers

The data officer is part of the Reception Team and will assist them at busy times.  They are expected to be courteous to all those attending the Repair Café and abide by all policies and procedures of the Shrewsbury Repair Café.

The data officer will monitor the repairs being undertaken and ensure that all paperwork is completed by the repairers, before entering the data into the Excel spreadsheet.

All volunteers are asked, where possible, to assist in setting up the monthly event at the venue and returning the room back to normal use following the event.

The venue has full disabled access and facilities, free on-site parking for those attending the Repair Café and refreshments are provided throughout the day.

About Shrewsbury Repair Cafe

Shrewsbury Repair Café is run by a group of volunteers doing our best to keep items working, in use, and out of the waste system, for as long as possible.

We do our very best to repair items which are broken so that they can be used for longer. From household items to garden tools and clocks to cameras and lots in between. Scroll down to see a list of items we will try to mend (and a few we are not able to help with).

If we can't help or think that there is a local business that is better placed to make an effective repair we will do all we can to point you in the right direction.

We love to have a go at fixing: vacuum cleaners, toasters, kettles, kitchen electronics, lawn mowers, hedge cutters, clocks, mechanical toys, ornaments, jewellery, cameras, zips, clothing and lots more.

We are not able to help with: televisions, mobile phones and do not offer a clothing alteration service.
