Workshop Support Volunteer

Crowsmill Craft Centre

Role Description: Assist the workshop trainers and facilitators in delivering structured workshops either one on one or as part of a group activity. Workshops to include woodworking, metal-working, jewellery making, bricklaying, plastering, wood burning etc. Helping to create an engaging, inclusive and supportive atmosphere. 

Key Responsibilities: Assist with setting up and clearing of work space. Support participants during workshops providing gentle encouragement and help where needed. Monitor and ensure service user's well being. Assist with the completion of daily worksheets. 

DBS checks will be completed by Crowsmill Craft Centre upon successful application. 

About Crowsmill Craft Centre

We work with adults struggling with their mental health, learning difficulties, physical disabilities, Dementia, PTSD, Autism, ADHD etc, and also school students struggling in mainstream education.

What skills do I need?

  • Good communication skills and patience. 
  • A team player.
  • Enthusiastic and encouraging.
  • Comfortable working with individuals of wide-ranging abilities. 
  • Experience of woodworking, metal-working, jewellery making, bricklaying, plastering, wood burning, or painting would be great but not essential.

Hours: Either 10.00am - 12.30pm, 12.30pm - 3.00pm or 10.00am - 3.00pm.
