Volunteer Performing Arts Specialist

Do you enjoy performing and/or have an interest and feel passionate about positively promoting Autism and disability? We need people to take on performing roles in our own written musical, The Group, which tells the story of Autism and disability. We also would value contribution towards the directing of the production. 

We currently rehearse up to twice a week in two hour sessions in the Sundorne area of Shrewsbury (UK). You would have the opportunity to gain and learn new skills by working inside a great cast and ensemble and would be supported by a fantastic and friendly team. They could also support and even mentor our cast and ensemble in the production.

About The Group the Musical

The Group The Musical is a disability theatre academy and support service for people with disabilities in Shrewsbury and Shropshire.

What skills do I need?

• Background and/or a qualification in a performing arts related subject (music, drama, acting etc.)
• Sympathy
• Some experience of working with groups or teaching
• Ideally some knowledge of disability or Autism

Fridays 5:00-7:00pm (Shrewsbury), Sunday 3:00-5:00pm (Shrewsbury) Other dates such as live performances would also be necessary.
