Badminton Coach/Assistant

North Shropshire Special Olympics is part of Special Olympics GB, which provides weekly training opportunities as well as opportunities to compete in a number of different sports for people with a learning disabilitiy from the age of eight upwards.

We are looking for a badminton coach or someone willing to assist the coach to help our athletes enjoy and improve their game.

Badminton practice takes place on a Monday evening at Oswestry leisure centre from 16.40 to 18.10.

The group attends a few competitions around the country during the year, these usually take place Saturday and/or Sunday.

Special Olympics North Shropshire has been training people with a learning disability aged 8 and above since 1989. We offer weekly training in 5 different sports during term time.

What skills do I need?

• Coach athletes/ assist coach
• Be enthusiastic and able to relate to people with learning difficulties 
• Give encouragement 
• First aid an advantage
• People person
