The League of Friends to RJAH Orthopaedic Hospital
We are looking for someone to help the ward by feeding the disabled patients. The candidate would be working with vulnerable adults and there may be a risk of choking for the patient if care isn't taken. They would also be working at mealtimes and as required.
The Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital NHS Foundation (RJAH) is a world class orthopaedic centre of excellence that enjoys the highest reputation for top quality and sustainable orthopaedic and related care, as well as achieving excellence in experience and outcomes for its patients. Its overriding objective is to deliver outstanding patient care and its unquestioned success in doing this has been supported, nurtured and enhanced by its League of Friends.
Since its establishment in 1961, the group has raised nearly £5 million to improve and maintain its pristine patient care, making its support central for providing the best and up-to-date medical equipment, which will help to ensure that the best medical, clinical and nursing staff are enticed to work for RJAH, especially since there is an increasing financial gap between the NHS funds and the costs of the hospital's services.
Everyone associated with the League is based at the hospital's single site in Oswestry, but the main fundraising effort is a whole network of 17 fundraising branches, which are based in the towns and villages of Shropshire and Mid-Wales.
The League, which is always keen to raise awareness amongst the younger generations in particular, welcomes new volunteers; it has students and the youth groups within the community who are admirably committed.
Through good times and bad, this League of Friends has provided stability and assurance for the Clinical Directors, maintained an exemplary and caring service for patients and visitors alike and is endorsed by the hospital's exceptional patient satisfaction ratings. The League of Friends of RJAH thoroughly and whole-heartedly deserves only the highest national recognition for the outstanding and amazing hard work it provides for the hospital.
It is essential that the candidate be someone who has had training in the feeding of patients who are on bed rest, but we would like that person to be patient, kind and gentle towards others.
