About Shropshire PCAS

Shropshire PCAS provides independent advocacy to support people across Shropshire who may otherwise struggle to have their voices heard. Our work helps individuals understand their rights, make informed choices, and navigate complex systems. Fundraising plays an essential role in helping us continue and grow our services.

The Role

As a Fundraising Volunteer, you will support Shropshire PCAS by helping to raise vital income and increase awareness of our work within local communities. This flexible, ad‑hoc role is ideal for someone who enjoys engaging with people, is well‑organised, and would like to make a positive impact in their spare time.

Key Responsibilities

  • Sourcing raffle prizes from local businesses and supporters
  • Helping to create and arrange fundraising hampers
  • Distributing and monitoring collection cans at shops, venues, and businesses across Shropshire
  • Assisting with the organisation and delivery of community fundraising events
  • Supporting activities that raise awareness of Shropshire PCAS and our services
  • Working alongside staff and other volunteers to generate ideas for fundraising opportunities

Support & Expenses

Volunteers will receive guidance and support from the Shropshire PCAS team. Reasonable out‑of‑pocket expenses can be reimbursed in line with our volunteer policy.

PCAS has provided independent advocacy for over 30 years, supporting individuals across Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin who may otherwise struggle to have their voices heard. Our work helps people understand their rights, express their views, and achieve positive outcomes in complex and challenging situations.

What skills do I need?

Skills and Qualities

  • Friendly, approachable, and confident communicating with the public
  • Organised and reliable, with attention to detail
  • Comfortable working independently as well as part of a team
  • An interest in fundraising, community engagement, or local events
  • A commitment to the values and aims of Shropshire PCAS

No previous fundraising experience is required, enthusiasm and a willingness to get involved are most important.
