Trustee – Human Resources

Shropshire PCAS Peer Counselling and Advocacy Service

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced HR professional to join our Board of Trustees.

Your expertise will help shape our people strategy and support the charity as we continue to develop our workforce, volunteers and governance arrangements.

This is an opportunity to use your professional skills to improve the lives of people accessing advocacy services throughout Shropshire and Telford & Wrekin.

What You'll Be Doing

• Advising the Board on HR best practice. 

• Supporting the development of employment policies. 

• Advising on recruitment and retention. 

• Supporting succession planning. 

• Providing guidance on staff wellbeing and organisational development. 

• Contributing to the strategic leadership of the charity. 


About Shropshire PCAS Peer Counselling and Advocacy Service

PCAS has provided independent advocacy for over 30 years, supporting individuals across Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin who may otherwise struggle to have their voices heard. Our work helps people understand their rights, express their views, and achieve positive outcomes in complex and challenging situations.

What skills do I need?

We are looking for someone with experience in:

• Human Resources. 

• Employment law or employee relations. 

• Organisational development. 

• Recruitment and workforce planning. 

• Coaching or leadership. 

Trustee experience is not essential, we provide a full induction and ongoing support.


When do I need to be available?

Details

We generally have a Trustee meeting every 2-3 months on a Monday but we can change the day if needed.
