Trustee Secretary

Shropshire PCAS Peer Counselling and Advocacy Service

About the Role

Shropshire PCAS is looking for a dedicated individual to join our Board of Trustees as our Trustee Secretary.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in supporting the governance of an independent charity that provides advocacy services across Shropshire and Telford & Wrekin. As Trustee Secretary, you will help ensure the Board operates effectively and in line with charity governance requirements.

This is a voluntary position with a supportive and friendly Board, offering the opportunity to make a genuine difference to vulnerable people across our communities.

What You'll Be Doing

• Preparing and circulating Board meeting agendas. 

• Taking and maintaining accurate minutes of trustee meetings. 

• Supporting the Chair and CEO with Board administration. 

• Maintaining trustee records and key governance documents. 

• Helping ensure compliance with Charity Commission requirements. 

• Contributing to strategic discussions and Board decisions. 


About Shropshire PCAS Peer Counselling and Advocacy Service

PCAS has provided independent advocacy for over 30 years, supporting individuals across Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin who may otherwise struggle to have their voices heard. Our work helps people understand their rights, express their views, and achieve positive outcomes in complex and challenging situations.

What skills do I need?

We are looking for someone who has:

• Excellent organisational skills. 

• Good written communication. 

• Experience of administration or governance. 

• Attention to detail. 

• The ability to work collaboratively. 

• An interest in supporting a local charity. 

Previous trustee experience is welcomed but not essential.
