Vehicle Maintenance and Safety Volunteer

Oswestry Community Action (Qube)

The OCA Community Transport fleet consists of a small number of accessible cars and minibuses, which transport between one and 17 passengers at any one time. This role involves valeting the vehicles on a rotational basis to ensure they are always clean and presentable when called into use. There may also be occasions when smaller non-mechanical maintenance checks will be required such as: ensuring bulbs are operational; topping up water levels and adding antifreeze or checking tyre pressure. If you have a driving licence, you may also be asked sometimes to drive vehicles the short distance from the lockup to OCA premises within Oswestry and to refuel.

The Community Transport service provides door to door transport for people in Oswestry and the surrounding area, who do not have access to their own transport and have limited public transport services. To maintain a high standard of cleanliness and to ensure the vehicles are prepared for journeys, we are looking to recruit a vehicle maintenance and safety volunteer.
